SmartYardLab is an independent publication about robot lawn mowers, smart irrigation controllers and robotic pool cleaners. It helps homeowners work through three questions: will this equipment fit my yard, how do I use it, and what should I check when something goes wrong?
Who is responsible
SmartYardLab is operated by Mariano Manfredini. He is responsible for the publication and its corrections. An article byline identifies editorial responsibility; it does not mean that the author has personally tested every product mentioned.
What the guides offer
A useful guide should turn a broad problem into a decision you can make. For example, a mower comparison should help you check boundary requirements and lawn limitations. An irrigation troubleshooting guide should separate a lost internet connection from a controller that has no power. A storage guide should make clear which instructions depend on the exact model.
- Robot lawn mowers: choosing a boundary system, installation, fault finding and seasonal care.
- Smart irrigation: comparing controllers, checking compatibility and understanding connected features.
- Robotic pool cleaners: matching a cleaner to the pool, cleaning coverage and maintenance needs.
Research, not a testing laboratory
SmartYardLab publishes research-based guidance. Manufacturer manuals, support pages and specifications are useful sources for a product’s stated requirements. Those statements are different from independent measurements of real-world performance. Our guides should identify that distinction and link readers to the relevant source.
We do not present specification comparisons as hands-on tests. When a question cannot be settled without the model number, an inspection or a measurement, the guide should explain what information is missing rather than invent an answer. Read our editorial policy for how we use sources, AI assistance and corrections.
Corrections and reader questions
If a guide conflicts with your manual or product experience, please contact SmartYardLab. Include the article URL, the model and the statement in question. A link to the manufacturer’s instructions helps us check the issue. Please do not send passwords, account access codes or payment information.
